Nuclear loan guarantees

We also invite your letters of support – mailed to your members of Congress, for an expanded federal nuclear loan guarantee program. Here are a few points to consider:

• Nuclear loan guarantees are not a “handout” from the government. Companies like PPL would pay upfront fees to offset the remote risk that the government would actually have to pay out on the guarantees.
• The nuclear loan guarantee program currently in place does not go far enough; Congress needs to expand it in terms of amounts allocated for guarantees.
